How do I set up a punched break to automatically deduct if the employee doesn't punch?

This set up is used when you wish to have the break automatically deducted if the employee doesn't punch for the break. For example, a company has a rule that says if the employee leaves the premises they are required to punch for the break but if they stay on the premises they are not required to punch for the break. Please NoteClosedIf an employee punches Out and back In but doesn't meet their break rules, for example exceeding the Extended Break Length, then the Out and In punches will not be counted as break punches and the break will still be automatically deducted.

  1. Choose Setup from the navigation list.
  2. From the slide out menu select Breaks.
  3. Choose + New.
  4. Enter an identifier for the break at the Name field.
  5. Under Punched Break Type, select the desired punch break option.
  6. Configure the options for the punched break.
  7. Under Automatically Deduct Break, select Automatically Deduct Break.
  8. Configure the options for the automatically deducted break.
  9. Select Save to keep the changes.
